Q. How long does it take to erase a drive?
A. DiskEraser is one of the fastest products of its type available today. The time it takes to erase a drive is dependent on many factors, including the size of the drive. DiskEraser will erase most drives at a rate of two minutes per gigabyte.
Q. Can I use DiskEraser to erase more than one machine?
A. Yes, DiskEraser can be used to erase drives on an unlimited number of machines. Previous versions of DiskEraser were licensed for 10, 100 or unlimited wipes. These restrictions no longer apply.
Q. How do I know that everything is truly removed from my computer?
A. DiskEraser has a “verify” feature that can be used to read the entire content of the hard drive after it is finished erasing, so you can be sure that the data has been removed completely.
Q. Does DiskEraser comply with Department of Defense 5220.22M disk sanitizing standard?
A. Yes, DiskEraser was designed to comply with the DoD standard. The DoD 5220.22M standard states that “non-removable rigid disks” (or hard drives) must be sanitized for reuse by the following process: “overwriting all addressable locations with a character, its complement, then a random character and verify.
Q. Does DiskEraser run if the computer is turned off?
A. No, DiskEraser is a software tool that requires the computer to be in operation during the erasing process. If the computer is turned off, any data not yet erased by DiskEraser still will reside on the hard drive.

A. DiskEraser can run on any Intel-based (as well as AMD-based) PCs, Macs and Linux computers and is operating-system independent.

Q. What is your return/refund policy?
A. You have 30 days to return the product, provided that the package is intact and unopened. If you have opened the package and have found that the software to be unusable, you may return the product for a replacement or a full refund less shipping and handling.
Q. What is the typical delivery time for an order of DiskEraser?
A. We offer two choices for shipping based on how quickly you need the product. Our Standard shipping, for $6.99, delivers within 8 to 10 business days. RUSH shipping is provided for an additional $6.99 and delivers within 3 to 5 business days. International shipping is a standard charge of $9.99. Any customs fees, taxes, import duties or any other applicable charges are your responsibility and are collected once the package reaches your country. We reserve the right to refuse orders shipping to certain countries.
Q. How do I cancel an order once the order has been placed?
A. Due to our quick order processing, orders cannot be changed once they have been placed. However, if you want to return the intact and unopened product, you may do so within 30 days, for a full refund.
